Adam Khan is the Founder & currently the Chief Executive Officer of AKHAN SEMI. Previous to AKHAN SEMI, Mr. Khan studied both physics and electrical engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago before pursuing research at the graduate level at Stanford University’s Stanford Nanofabrication Facility (SNF). Mr. Khan has worked in various positions within the field of condensed matter research ranging from theoretical work in unconventional superconductor systems to applied work in diamond semiconductor systems. Mr. Khan’s professional research associations include membership with the Materials Research Society (MRS), American Physical Society (APS), as well as research affiliations with the Stanford Nanofabrication Facility and the Center for Nanoscale Materials at Argonne National Laboratory.
Mr. Khan has authored several patents, technical publications, is invited to technical talks regularly, and also co-chaired the 2014 New Diamond and Nano Carbons conference (Materials Research Society). Amongst his award winning research, Mr. Khan is co-inventor of the Miraj Diamond™ Platform, the world’s first CMOS Compatible N-type Diamond Materials & Devices — named by R&D magazine to the 2013 R&D 100. Amongst his achievements in business, Mr. Khan recently led AKHAN SEMI to win the 2013 Midwest Innovation Summit (MW CleanTech Open). Mr. Khan frequently gives speeches at academic, business, & industry events on diamond materials, semiconductor technology, clean tech, & energy efficient technologies. He has been featured in numerous media outlets, both broadcast and print, including Bloomberg TV, Wired, PBS (Chicago Tonight) and Semiconductor Today, just to name a few. He was also named by Forbes Magazine to the 2014 “”30 Under 30″” in the Energy & Industry category.
